2007
SED Lutheran Educators Conference
October 17 - 19
Virginia Beach, VA
Indescribable Gift
Thanks be to God for his indescribable gift! (2 Cor.9:15)
You are the indescribable gift of God for his children and their families.
This year’s conference
is about the free gift that we receive through the precious blood of Jesus
Christ, it is about the gift of people for the mission and ministry of God’s
church, and it is about lives of thanksgiving as a response to God’s
great love.
The conference worship will be led by three schools and will celebrate three special days in our worship life: the Reformation, All Saints Day, and Thanksgiving.
Our speaker, Dr. Todd Whitaker is nationally known as a school leader, educator, and author. He believes in the power of a good teacher to bring about the best in a student.
Jeff Smith from Salt and Light Ministries will be with us for the banquet and anniversary celebration as well as for two workshops on Thursday. He shares the story of faith through drama and song.
There are four workshop sessions and our leaders will offer many opportunities for professional growth. I am pleased to welcome Angie Young (Concordia, Conover), Kathy Unverferht (Concordia, Conover), Lydia Holz (St. John, Winston-Salem), Bill Cochran (LCMS School Ministry), Perry Bresemann (LCMS School Ministry), Lori Aadsen (LCMS Child Ministry) and Jeff Smith (Salt and Light Ministries).
