Is your congregation or school a disciple-making community of teaching, fellowship, breaking of bread and prayer? (Acts 2:42)
What are disciple-making communities and what do they look like? What do they do? And, how do they prepare and nurture members to be disciples? These are the questions to be addressed at this year's conference.
Dynamic Speakers, Informative Workshops, Prayer, Worship and Celebration are all a part of this three-day event focused on evangelism.
We are blessed to welcome incredible speakers to our conference this year. Focusing on what it means to be a disciple-making congregation,
Rev. Bob Roegner will start us off on Friday evening. He will begin this time of Fellowship as he speaks about gathering the saints. His presentation will be sprinkled with the faith-sharing accounts that he experienced in his time as an overseas missionary. (search for a bio and find the country he served) Throughout the Conference,
President Bob Newton from the California-Nevada-Hawaii District will lead us in study on Acts 2:42. President Newton brings great insight to these verses and is looking forward to helping us unpack them.
Dr. Mary Manz-Simon, who is a parenting specialist, will use her gifts to help us understand Christian community. She is a nationally-known author and has sold more than a million books.
Each of these individuals is more than simply the words on this page, they are the tellers of stories of the work of God in the lives of people. In them, we see hearts Ablaze! and will be blessed as they help to tend the flame that will nurture and encourage us to become Acts 2 congregations!
Don’t forget, an outstanding series of workshops will shape Friday and Saturday afternoon. The Workshop Team is hard at work pulling together a wide variety of topics and speakers that will provide resources in each of the Acts 2:43 areas: teaching, fellowship, breaking of bread, and prayer.
Rev. Jay Reed will lead the teen segment. Pastor Jay Reed serves at Light of the Valley Lutheran Church in Elk Grove, CA. When asked about his passion for youth and youth ministry, Pastor Reed shares, "To see kids connected to Christ Monday through Saturday as well as Sunday. See them living, breathing and walking in Him every moment." This is disciple-making news!
Our children will gather in the garden where they will learn how God grows within each one, loving them with his life, and growing them into a beautiful harvest. Again, our children will be gathered in three age groupings.
We are looking forward to seeing you in August. Plan now to attend. Plan to bring your family. Plan to bring your teens. Plan to be uplifted and spiritually refreshed as we gather to learn, to grow, to be tended – nurtured by the Holy Spirit.
