Deaconess
Sally J. HIller
Mission and Ministry Executive
Southeastern District
Deaconess Sally Hiller,
child of God, graduated from Valparaiso University and was consecrated in May
1976. She has a master of science degree in Administration from Trinity College,
Washington DC. And has served in three congregations in Prince Georges County
MD: First, Bowie; Trinity, Bowie; and Ascension, Landover Hills. It was at Ascension,
where Sally was involved in growing an Early Childhood program and becoming
a member of a parish-school ministry team.
She began working part-time for the Southeastern District in Family and Youth
Ministry in June 1993. In August 1995, she was called to full-time ministry
as Mission and Ministry Executive for the Southeastern District. Serving the
schools and congregations of the Southeastern District is an incredible ministry.
Being a member of a mission-focused staff and developing creative partnerships
through which to begin new outreach efforts is life changing.
Sally remains a member at Ascension. She and her husband, Charles, are actively
involved in working with foam bodies (puppets) and a 25-member puppet troupe
consisting of students in grade four through high school.
Every verse in Scripture is her favorite, but today’s most favorite verse
is “Therefore be imitators of God, as beloved children; and walk in love,
just as Christ also loved you and gave Himself up for us, an offering and a
sacrifice to God as a fragrant aroma.” Eph 5: 1-2
