Our Mission
In grateful response to God's grace and empowered by the Holy Spirit through Word and Sacraments, the MISSION of the Southeastern District is vigorously to connect people with the love of Christ.
Ablaze Goals
Goal I
The Southeastern District will commit to surrounding the work of mission with the power of prayer by enlisting 3000 prayer partners and a mission prayer team for each new mission.
Goal II
The Southeastern District will share the Gospel with 2.5 million people by 2017. Sound impossible? Well, if each person would share with 4 people per year– then we would reach more than 2.5 million people.
Goal III
The Congregations and Circuit Mission Committees of the Southeastern District will partner to begin at least 100 new ministries in the next 12 years. Already the possibilities for new work number more than 150.
Goal IV
Leaders for outreach are equipped for ministry through regularly scheduled workshops available throughout the Southeastern District.
Goal V
60 teams of outreach leaderswill be sent forth in local and new communities to share the Gospel and initiate new mission centers.
The Critical Event
When one Lutheran Christian gives witness about Jesus of the hope that is within him or her to another person so that person may encounter Christ.
Faithsharing Blog - This blog is intended to be a place for congregations and members of the Southeastern District (SED) of the Lutheran Church-Missouri Synod (LCMS) to discuss and exchange tools, views, and experiences relating to the Ablaze! movement.
