Today,
our district is taking part in a historic campaign that will help to bring the
Good News of Jesus to 2.5 million unchurched or uncommitted people.
Before
we begin our reception to learn about the endeavor this afternoon, let us begin
with a prayer.

At the heart of Ablaze!
for GodŐs Mission is JesusŐ final
instruction to His disciples: ŇBut you will receive power when the Holy Spirit
comes on you, and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and
Samaria, and to the ends of the earthÓ (Acts 1:8).

Jerusalem – to provide
resources to each circuit;
o
Judea and Samaria
– regionally to help our district mission efforts;
o
Ends of the Earth
– to increase our ability to proclaim the Gospel with the support of our
partner churches.

Our goal through this program
is to provide funding to fortify the resources as we work toward the Ablaze!
goal. Your financial support of this worthy initiative is the key
to our overall success. I ask that you and your family prayerfully consider
your sacrificial gift to this campaign. You will receive a brochure with a
letter enclosed asking for a pledge. May I ask you to read the letter and pray
about your commitment to this effort.
A member of the Leadership Team will be contacting you this week to
answer any questions and ask for your support. Let me be the first to thank you for your prayerful
consideration of my request.
While
I have no way of knowing your financial situation, I do know that our needs are
great. May, I ask you to
prayerfully consider a gift of $______ this year and an equal sum for each of
the next 3/5 years for a total gift of $______ or according to another schedule
of your choosing. With your
support, (church name) and The Southeastern District will jointly strengthen
their ability to fulfill the mandate of service issued through the Gospel. I ask you to complete the enclosed

Thank you for joining us
today to hear about this wonderful undertaking in which our congregation and
the Southeastern District are taking part. This is an exciting time for our congregation as we are
challenged to support new and vital mission work. Through our efforts we will be able to put the resources in place
to reach the unchurched people in this world with the saving message of the
Gospel. I hope you will join me
and our Leadership Team in this historic effort.
